Virtual races now with Google street view

Last week we rolled out Racery’s new street view functionality. This cool functionality works for both our paid and free virtual races. Please give it a try and let us know what you think!

As of now, you can get a view of your exact location on the virtual race route after you log mileage via the web or our recently launched iOS app.

Thanks to Google’s awesome functionality, you’re able to zoom or pan 360-degree within the Racery app. We can only provide these views on routes that Google has ‘viewed.’  That means most of our cycling, walking and running virtual races will have the functionality, while our swimming races (mostly) will not.

Long-time virtual racers know this new functionality is icing on the virtual cake… you’re still getting updates about which racers you’ve passed and your personal achievements… longest streaks, longest mileage, etc.

Here’s an example of what the new view looks like:

Racery's street view functionality includes mile-marker, location name and the ability to zoom or pan 360-degree in app.
