Earn “Rebuilding Miles” with your friends and family when you exercise to help support areas hit by hurricanes in 2017. Starting November 11 and extending through December 11, any miles logged will advance you on a 2200+ mile virtual route from Fleet Feet Carrboro, to Houston, jumping to St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, and Miami, before making your way back to Carrboro. You'll work together with the other racers to complete the course! Proceeds support recovery efforts by Habitat for Humanity in those areas.
To get more from this virtual race:
All intentional exercise is welcome! No gadgets needed. Use a map or count 30 minutes of moderate activity (yoga, walking, slow bike) as 2 miles. Log 30 minutes of vigorous activity (running, cycling, swimming, hot yoga) as 3 miles. Add a hashtag like #run to your mileage log to track compare with others doing the same exercise.
As a participant in the Race to Rebuild, you are invited to a number of events to support your efforts to reach the neighborhoods recovering from the hurricanes. Hang out with your community as we raise support for communities hit by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. Join us on November 8 as we kick–off the challenge at the "Run Your World" event sponsored by Saucony and Fleet Feet Sports (Durham & Carrboro). All donations go to Habitat, $8 of each entry covers platform fees.
