Join us for the 2nd Annual CurePSP Enlightenment 5K to Benefit CurePSP to raise awareness for corticobasal degeneration!  Corticobasal degeneration (CBD) is a progressive brain disease with no known cause or cure.  It affects areas of the brain controlling limb movement, speech & other movement functions.  CBD is rare, affecting an estimated 2,000-3,000 people in the United States, of whom only 500-700 are diagnosed.

Last year, we raised over $6,000 to help CurePSP continue its mission of raising awareness, building community, improving care, and finding a cure for PSP, CBD, and MSA.  By participating in this year's Enlightenment 5K, you are honoring Linda Rutzen while raising funds to support CurePSP's efforts.  CurePSP is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to the awareness, care and cure for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration (CBD) and multiple system atrophy (MSA).  You can learn more here!

You are not alone in searching for answers and needing help, guidance, and support.  Join the fight to spread awareness and help find a cure!

This virtual race is 3.1 miles (5K) long and can be done at any point from November 4th through November 6th – either all at once or in a cumulative effort! 

ALL ABILITIES WELCOME! 


"My Mom taught me a lot, but most recently she's shown me Enlightenment, which is defined as education or awareness that brings change. Today she lives with Corticobasal Degeneration - a rare neurological disease - a terminal disease. This Enlightenment 5k is in her Honor, we must bring CBD into the light as more people face the same uncertain diagnosis. Mom isn't alone in this. This 5k is intended to reach people across the globe, raise funds for research, to bring us to our Ultimate Goal - a Cure!" - Amanda Rutzen, daughter of Linda
