                    Shouldn't we have received emails from Racery saying that this race is over? I'm sin receiving emails asking if I have any miles to log in this race. We seem to have grabbed the finish flag as we passes the start/finish line, and now we're carrying the flag worth is as we run through the streets near the St. Louis Arch! Lol! I guess I'll quit logging here and join everyone over at Part 2. ;)

                    We are almost back to where we began in St Louis. Watch for an email in the next few days for instructions on how to switch to a new map and continue around South America and Africa. BTW I was in Indianapolis this past weekend and met YouthGrunt #19 (forgot to ask where the name originated) ! Always fun to meet a fellow Trekker on the journey.

                    We are just north of Nome, where the Iditarod ends. This year a homeschooler raced, Laura Neese. I met her and her family several years ago when she was a young girl with a big dream. at the age of 20, she completed the race this year.                     Please pray for my family. My grandpa has been ill this month, and last night he took a turn for the worse. He is in the hospital, now under hospice care, and probably only has hours left. He knows the Lord and said he is ready to go be with Him. But he's suffering. :'( Please pray for God's mercy and for His help during Grandpa's passing. And please pray for the rest of us, who are so sad at this parting, though we're thankful it IS only a TEMPORARY parting. Pray also for those of us who will be traveling long distances to say our goodbyes to him.

                    What a joy it is to be in China again! I had the privilege of going there on a missions trip back in 1988 after the summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea. Our friends are there right now traveling from Beijing to Shandong this very day to meet the two boys they are adopting! What a joy! Please pray for them. God's Word says to "Look after the widows and orphans in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27

Our friends are in Guangzhou now and 2 days ago they were at a medical clinic with their boys getting tests and final paperwork completed. At the end of their appt. their one son got so excited in the waiting room when he saw a little girl from his orphanage who had just left 4 days before him. He ran over and hugged her right away. We read about it and saw photos on their blog. Anyway, the couple adopting her were from Ohio and they are adopting a little boy too!

                    Just saw the email that we are half way through our race. It hasn't even been a month yet! Steve, I think our next race needs to be to the moon (and back?) so it lasts more than 50 days!

                    What a blessing this morning! I was struggling with the long descriptions at the end of Exodus, and my daughter (8) noticed the diagrams in my Bible--despite my lack of focus, God opened up a discussion about the tabernacle and Ark of the Covenant! God is good!

                    Not able to read like I want to right now. I have 8 children and 7 of them have been hit with a vicious stomach bug requiring around the clock care from Momma here. The four oldest had it 2 times as well as one of the youngers and now the oldest has it again! Please pray that they recover and that I can get back into the Word!!!! Thank you.

                    Praying for the people in Bosnia and Sarajevo. Our family just read through Franklin Graham's book "Operation Christmas Child: A Story of Simple Gifts." The chapters about Sarajevo really spoke to our hearts: "The Most Dangerous Road in the World" and "God on the Mountain" Amazing, really! God sent fog which helped keep them safe and when they arrived, they found the pastor and his wife in a little room in their bombed out church. They prayed with them and washed their feet. I would highly recommend reading this book when you have time. :)

                    Awesome that we are headed to Scotland. This is the land of my forefathers. My grandfather emigrated from Scotland to Canada and then to the US about 100 years ago. It is fun to virtually be there. :)

                    Scotch ancestry here too. We were the de Vere family when we came from France with William the Conqueror in 1066. We were granted a title and became all the Earls of Oxford. Some time later, our ancestor, one of three brothers, decided to leave England and go to Scotland. We had changed the spelling to Weir by that time. Finally, in about 1740 we headed to America and in the mid 1800's changed the surname spelling to the "Americanized" version of Ware. My 20 year old son became fascinated by our ancestry earlier this year and researched it. He'd love to study a semester at Oxford and visit the family castle in England.

                    It's lovely to be in England! My maternal grandparents were born there. In fact, we're just passing through Newcastle-upon- Tyne, where my grandmother was born and raised. My cousin Joyce and her family still live there. I'm sure they won't mind if we all stop in for a "cuppa" tea. :)

                    Great job everyone!! My three oldest children are having an absolute blast doing this together. It is so refreshing to walk through the house and to see them not only reading their bibles but also engaging each other in conversations about what they are reading.

                    Yes! Same here. Our 8 year old wants to be sure that his reading gets logged. Every morning when I get up my two youngest boys have already finished their Bible reading for the day.
