    Hi, my name is Jessica and I am a mom of 5, run an at home day care and a non-profit for women and children. Because of proper treatment for anxiety and depression, I am here today and the founder of "Race For Hope."

    Someone raised funds for me to enroll in treatment and I owe my recovery to my incredible and dedicated therapist who pushed me to fight harder then I ever have. It's now time for me to pay it forward.

    The Race For Hope will raise funds and direct individuals to appropriate treatment. All monies will be distributes to Bikur Cholim of Far Rockaway and the 5 Towns. They are a leader in assisting children, teens and adults who require financial assistant to obtain the mental health treatment they require. Join with me and let's race around the country and offer hope to those struggling with mental illness. It's time to MAKE OUR MILES MATTER! Registering for Race For Hope means you support those with mental illness and walk alongside them in their fight. Your donations help fund necessary treatment for those who cannot afford the proper care that they need and deserve, Thank you for your support!

    The virtual route will bring us around the U.S. and hit all of the best tourist attractions -- it's deemed the BEST U.S. ROADTRIP EVER! We'll hit places like the Grand Canyon, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park, Mt. Vernon, The Liberty Bell, Lost World Caverns, and SO many more (see entire list at bottom of the About Section.)

    As individuals submit mileage, our @RaceForHope team will collaboratively move around the ~14,200 mile route. Our goal is to loop around the course AS MANY TIMES as possible!!! How many miles can dollars can we raise for hope?

    FAQ and Guidelines:

    We've got participants from all over, so to keep everyone on the same page, we suggest these guidelines:

    1. We believe in the honor system. You don't have to use a device to prove your miles!

    2. LOTS of intentional activity -- dancing, swimming, yoga-ing, and many more -- can be converted to miles. Just select the option that matches up with your activity best! NOTE: the goal is to collaboratively log as many miles as possible. For this reason, we'll have cyclists, swimmers, runners, bootcampers, ALL submitting to the same event. While you can pay attention to the individual leaderboards, they might feel a little uneven because of the different types of activity being submitted. Please keep with the spirt of the event and cheer on your fellow racers for all of the amazing mileage they rack up!

    3. If the @RaceForHope team finishes the route early, KEEP ON LOGGING to see how many laps the team can complete before the race officially ends!

    4. Only mileage added before the challenge officially closes will count in the leaderboards. Check the top of the About Section for race dates!

    5. Last but not least, Racery is more fun if you log activities as part of a group, comparing progress with friends and colleagues. With LOTS of people participating in this event joining a group can make a big difference. Go to the Athletes tab, click the group you’d like to join, and select “race with this group.” OR create your own group by adding one to your bio!
