Host a Corporate Virtual 5K for Employees
What is a Corporate Virtual 5K?
A corporate virtual 5K is a company-wide race in which employees each cover 3.1 miles wherever they happen to be, at whatever hour suits them, during a race window you choose. Each racer's distance and time are tracked automatically by phone, so a team spread across ten cities (or ten countries) competes on one leaderboard as if they'd shared a starting line.
Why host a virtual 5K for your employees?
Remote and hybrid teams rarely share an experience that isn't a meeting. A timed company 5K gives everyone a common goal for a week: colleagues cheer each other in the activity feed, friendly rivalries form between departments, and walkers count just as much as runners. It works as a standalone morale event, an anchor for your wellness program, or a warmup for a longer virtual race.
Setup takes about two minutes, and there's no setup fee for the sponsor. Racery handles registration, tracking, leaderboards and awards, so HR isn't chasing spreadsheets.
How does it work for racers?
Employees sign up in under a minute, then run or walk their 5K (or 13.1 miles, or a full marathon) anytime during the race window. A phone logs each racer's distance and elapsed time and posts the result to a live leaderboard. Anyone who keeps moving past the finish shows up on the "ultra" leaderboard, ranked by total mileage instead of time. Every finisher earns a personalized digital bib and finish placard, ready to post in Slack or on LinkedIn.
