Trying out new Garmin Fenix watch's flashlight. As one online review of the watch noted, the light shines to the side - unless you hold your arm in front of your body while running as if it's in a sling. Don't think I'll try running that way,

Seems more deer now than moose in our neck of the woods - winter ticks not as much of a problem for deer?

Such a beauty! Don’t know the answer to the question though…

Hiked the Hunters Cliffs and Hunters Beach Trails, starting at the new Day Mountain parking lot in the Land & Garden Preserve. And @DrI I just zoomed into where you are and it's the South Rim. See attached screenshot. In the dropdown menu at the top left, click on map, and then zoom into to find where your avatar is. I see @Shellperry and @Coastwalker and another virtual racer (sorry don't have that virtual racer's name memorized yet, but will look it up).

That's @Cha near you in the screenshot as well, @DrI
Thanks @AOMM for reminding me of the avatar map! Definitely see it!
    Amazing technology!
@AOMM And I received the coaster and thank you for the LL Bean gift card!! Yay 😁🎉
I hiked Hunters Cliff from that lot last week. Most folks using that lot seemed to use it for access to Hunters Beach. That lot is central to a lot of good hikes.

Closest to sunset we could get a reservation up Cadillac was 5:30 pm. Took the opportunity to hike up Cadillac South Ridge from the West Lot, walk around the summit loop, before returning via road to join the other sunset worshippers.

Hiker in the mist. Fog so thick, it dripped from the trees. To borrow a page from @MoGo4Acadia - it was not too Tri-ing a Day as we summited Triad via the more gradual Jordan and Bubble Ponds Path-Triad Pass route, descended to Triad-Day Bridge, then looped back to Jordan Pond on the carriage road. Second of 26 peaks of Acadia this year and hoping for more.

That area was part of a race track where the Rusticators showed off their horses.
The things that can be learned from you @mdijim - thank you! There's a spectacular view up the ridge across from the restrooms. And we learned from another virtual racer who has been a Waldron's Warrior that you can cut across the PLR at one spot and find a back way in to Beachcroft. Don't know if there's any evidence visible in the area of the bike path that Dorr apparently built for his Mom around Beaver Dam Pond?
Both are correct. There is an easy to follow trail from west of the pond that connects with the Beechcroft so that it is possible to do a loop hike from the Tarn. Dorr's bicycle path is easy to follow and well marked around the Beaver Pond. Download a copy of Pathmakers from the NPS IRMA store and all will be revealed to you

Thanks to @mdijim for showing us the way from Thuya to this memorial plaque to Charles Eliot. We tried to find this plaque years ago climbing up from the other side of Eliot Mountain, thinking the plaque must be at the summit. But when we looked around and couldn't find it, we had good enough cellphone coverage we were able to find Don Lenahan's blog about Acadia Memorials, and figure out the plaque was a little below the summit, where there's a fine view toward the Cranberry Isles. - Eliot Mountain, Mount Desert, ME, USA

Fine reward for your hard work!
So much is owed to Eliot. Just for the record that memorial is not in Acadia National Park. Thanks for a nice hike even though the weather was scorching.
Lot of memorials not in the park - like Champlain Monument....
