Turn your miles into activism with this month’s Liberty Challenge supporting the ACLU

ACLU Liberty Challenge FB Placard“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

Looking to ‘get active?’

Dedicate your running (or walking) miles during the month of February to the ACLU.

Your  team of 1- 6 people can virtually run or walk from the Statue of Liberty to D.C. and also support the ACLU.

Join here: https://racery.com/r/liberty-challenge/

If you’re competitive, see how quickly you can cover the distance. If you’re just supporting the ACLU, take your time and enjoy the scenery!  You may see some of the awesome Google Street Views shown below.

Statue of LibertyYour $10 registration fee and any additional funds raised (less PayPal fees) will be donated  to the ACLU. (To put it another way, Racery isn’t making a dime).

Starting Monday, February 1, you can log daily walking/running miles to virtually travel  from the Statue of Liberty to the White House.  It’s never too late to join — you can backdate mileage easily.

As a team you can log as many or as little miles as you want and raise as much money as you can through February 28th!

The run starts at the Statue of Liberty and ends at the White House. Along the way, you’ll pass iconic locations in American history like Ellis Island, JFK, the Liberty Bell, the Lincoln Memorial, and the US Congress.

Get out and start running! Because,  ACLU says, “freedom can’t protect itself.”
